The chamber clearly called for increase in "legal immigration" to handle labor shortage (mainly due to lack of desire to return to work; or due to the fact that childcare issues where rampant causing people to not be able to return to work; or the folks who took "early retirement").

Because if none of the blame from the last four years can go to Trump’s ineffective policies during his first term, then none of Biden’s policies can be blamed for any price increases after Inauguration Day.

It isn’t the pushing back against Trump. I wanted two new candidates. But Trump was the guy. We need a guy who is comfortable being a villian. I think with all his flaws he is the right guy for the job.
This is the typical response. If you fight any push back from a pub or dem you are in a cult. You can’t go against Trump. That is ridiculous. The country is broken. And it wasn’t broken by him. So Canada’s price increase won’t hurt them at all. I am sure we can’t go elsewhere. They depend on us way more than we depend on them. Let’s see how this plays out in a month or two.

Biden wasnt as shaqrp as he once was but he wasn’t erratic and the underlying policy was sound. His real problem was not being up to the campaign at his age than actually not doing his job well. Of course I knew we were in trouble when I kept hearing about Trump’s outreach to bring low engagement low information voters to the polls along with his usual crowd. He is a great communicator to bigots and people who don’t have a clue. Put that with special interests he shamelessly caters to and I guess you have a formidable coalition.
You need to go look at what happened. Information ruled the day. He used podcasts and not the msm to get his message across. The left lost the working class voter because they stopped being duped. This is what Trump (and now all of MAGA) does. Shift the narrative whenever it’s convenient so they are never “wrong.” Zero accountability or logical consistency.
The economy was solid and no one said there wasn’t inflation. They said the overall economy was good which it was.
The President has limited control over inflation. While it is true pandemic spending was inflationary I would argue it was necessary. By that logic tax cuts are also inflationary because they put money into the economy.
Trump basically stirred discontent over it but never said how he’d fix it which is a theme with Trump. I will say though that tariffs are inflationary by any standard. It should be common sense. Also deporting workers regardless of their status is also inflationary. Free trade promotes economic efficiency. That used to be a core belief of the Republican Party but not Trump’s Republican Party.
So yes inflation has been a problem. Recognizing it doesn’t mean you can fix it or even that you understand why it’s happening.
It’s actually more of the fact that this our country and we don’t want the government bringing hordes of foreigners to replace us.
