Wow what do the gays have to do with this thread…..telling on yourself WillieThe sheriff is in place.
So should we negotiate lesbians tap dance lessons for young Ukrainians?
The world has been enjoying our downfall. Trump is correcting that.
TDS is so obvious in the lib responses. We don’t want transparency, knowing how OUR money is spent and we don’t mind giving our country away, as long as abortions are legal, and gender fluidity is promoted as normal. We will go full socialism as long as we are given special status.
Thx for the thoughtful response. You make a lot of good points i pretty much or somewhat agree with, but one you made I def do not. When you said you guarantee Europeans don’t want their sons fighting, well Putin may not give them the option, like he didn’t give Ukrain the option. Can you guarantee that giving Putin what he wants in Ukrain definitely stops there? He is sated, or is he just getting started, and now that he knows he has a partner in America, why would he stop? Sorry guys, I know you’ve depended on us since WW2, but we are America first now, good luck dealing with Putin, he has nukes soooooo get used to bending over and taking it, he has nukes so he gets what he wants. Is that what our policy is now regarding Russia and Europe?Shat, China would probably jump all over that. But they would probably want to use all of Ukraine as collateral - nothing is free.
You may not like the way Trump handle it, but I do. He is not going to walk away from a challenge like that. We need a strong leader & he showed that he is.
Zelenskyy was definitely insulting.
Trump is being responsible in trying to claw back the money that has been spent and most importantly - trying to get peace between Ukraine & Russia at the same time…brokering a deal.
Who else has done that?
It all needs to come to a head, you can’t open the faucets and keep it flowing forever - or as Biden would say - “as long as it takes”.
Zelenskyy was foolish in challenging & disrespecting Trump. Pretty sure Z doesn’t have a leg to stand on. He has boxed himself into a corner.
Guarantee you that if you ask the taxpayers of those European countries if they are willing to continue to fund their war or send their sons and daughters over there, the majority would say NO.
At this point, I know that I am not, I don’t want to continue the funding or fight their war. Most certainly not with Zelenskyy in charge. It’s also not winnable & has gone on long enough.
The best thing Zelenskyy could have done is said thank you, nodded his head and smiled, & kept his mouth shut. Then he could have discussed his concerns in private, not to grandstand.
I certainly feel bad for the people over there, but they should ask for better representation or his resignation.
Shat - half of them are probably DADE & have no ability to give 2 sh!ts.With all the corruption DOGE is finding, etc.... does anybody actually believe charges will happen? As a huge Trump
Supporter, i will admit, i will be very pissed if they continue with all this and nothing happens... would simply prove politics is a game on both sides and we are the fools for believing.... whichever team you are on...
I posted this in another thread here in the chat about Ukraine. It was entirely ignored, but here you go ago (again). https://www.understandingwar.org/backgrounder/ukraine-fact-sheet-february-21-2025How much aid have we given them?
You can spout all the mainstream rhetoric you want but I prefer dollars and cents. Let’s just compare aid we’ve provided to Russia vs elsewhere
News flash: politics is a game on both sides. With all the corruption DOGE is finding, etc.... does anybody actually believe charges will happen? As a huge Trump

I worked in large project construction. I’ve seen the same things, only the cost is much higher, but they never worry. Most of it is tax money.its like building a house. Roughly 25 main steps. Never fails when I have a customer involved. “Well that’s just $3,000 more so I want it. This is only $5,000 more, let’s do it”. And at the end they freak out at what the house cost. Resale value little to no more than the spec I build next door for 40% less.
I understand. I was angry when over 100,000 of our fine and much needed military personnel were kicked out of service for refusing an unproven and untested vaccine. Same for the thousands working on the pipeline that Biden canceled day 1 of his term. From a post made yesterday by Dr. Levi Cowan of Tropical Tidbits, which a lot of us use when the hurricanes start brewing:
I never publicly comment on political matters because they are usually irrelevant to my work of providing hurricane data and forecasts to people in my personal capacity. Today though, it is highly relevant, and as a member of the meteorological community, I am angry.
Planned or ongoing bulk workforce cuts would irreparably harm the National Weather Service, NOAA, and their scientists who save innumerable lives by warning people in advance of tornadoes, hurricanes, wildfires, tsunamis, blizzards, and other life-threatening hazards. Many of you reading this may knowingly or unknowingly be alive today because of their work, or know someone who is.
As a direct consequence of wounding the NWS and NOAA, the public would be less safe.
My personal mission to bring hurricane science, data, and forecasts to the public would not be possible without the weather observations, doppler radar stations, computer models, hurricane hunter aircraft, and weather satellites provided by NOAA and the NWS. Your favorite weather apps, TV meteorologists, and private weather companies would also be unable to function without this data or the civil servants who live and breathe it to synthesize it into public safety information.
All of these benefits cost each taxpayer the equivalent of a few cups of coffee per year, and surveys show most would be willing to pay much more. The American weather enterprise saves many, many times more money than it costs to run, making it one of the biggest bangs for your buck in the government. The impact of quality weather forecasts and infrastructure on society is multiplied many-fold by preventing economic disruptions, keeping public transportation efficient, and providing lead time to prepare for and mitigate disasters. Most importantly, it saves priceless lives.
Careful, long-term plans to streamline or reorient the weather enterprise in an evolving world are not bad, but *this plan* is insane. A feverish rush to take a cleaver to this workforce is self-destructive and dangerous to Americans who rely on the services they provide. It also cuts off the legs of young, passionate scientists who represent the future of meteorology in the new age of Al and other emerging technologies - the very people we need in the field right now.
As a part of this community since the age of 8 when I began analyzing hurricanes with dial-up internet, I am heartbroken and concerned by what appears to be planned or already in motion. It also directly impacts my friends and family. I cannot be silent, despite knowing I do myself no favors by speaking out. I ask you to join me in advocating for u/NWS and u/NOAA if you value their work or the work that I am able to do because of them. There are many ways to make your voice heard
