Find me an equal or even more violent event that has led to anywhere close to this level of prosecution / punishment. Most are guilty of being pissed and having poor judgement. Doubt any of them thought they were truly going to stop Biden from being Prez. If anything they were probably shocked there wasn’t more resistance and just kept following the crowd. Idiots. But punished for political reasons. Not because they were a legit danger. For those who were proven to strike police, prosecute accordingly. The political icing is wrong.
The Rodney King riots in LA resulted in 228 injured LEOs and over 14,000 were arrested.
J6 resulted in 140 LEOs being injured and about 1500 people have been charged. And J6 was almost certainly the most thoroughly documented (thousands of hours of video footage from every angle imaginable) mass crime in history. Nearly every plea deal or conviction included video evidence f some kind.
Regarding Trumps rhetoric, nobody’s feelings are hurt. When people say stupid things, others tend to take note it, particularly when coming from the supposed leader of the free world. Nothing more, nothing less.
