We should it have been completed in less than two years? It was a mass event and has led to by far the largest number of federal convictions (over 1000 have pled guilty and over 220 have been found guilty after trial) from a single event. It's entirely unprecedented in our history. The DOJ is still operating well within the statute of limitations. What's the logic behind the requirement that all prosecutions be completed in two years?
1. With the amount of resources thrown at this incident, all charges should have been filed within 2 years, absurdity inefficiency or intentional (my guess) to drag this out .
2. But as you said, still within their statute of limitations, and rumor is a certainly law enforcement officer will be charged with murder by new justice department. I have mixed feelings on this issue but because it appeared to be swept 🧹 under the rug (shooting an unarmed person by an officer) I think a full investigation is warranted. Moreover, who chose not to prosecute and why should be reviewed.
