People are mistaking …

Not crowning Gunner tonight as the the starting qb for eliminating the possibility that Gunner will win the job.

He may…I’m just saying I saw nothing tonight that sewed it up for him.

I am for bringing in someone from the portal and opening it all up. As others have pointed out, Pugs has a high ceiling and Rashada was once very highly touted.

I think we will have a real open competition that may not be decided before August.

Kirby Said To Always Win….

The last few minutes of the first half and the opening minutes of the 2h.

From the 3 and out with 4 minutes left in the 2nd quarter to putting our young QB in harms way(and subsequent t/o) inside your 20 right before half to the kickoff return to open the 2h……we got behind 17 points on the scoreboard!

I would have gladly taken a 3-3 or 6-3 game into the locker room.

It’s the Jimmy’s and Joe’s…..

Mike Bobo is not the culprit that many on the dog vent think he is. As head coach, Kirby’s imprint and approval are all over our offensive game plans. Every offensive play call goes through Kirby; He can veto or change any call; our conservative O approach is because that’s what Kirby wants. When we had Brock, Ladd, Rosemy, a more productive and mobile QB, and a better OL, this conservative approach was much more effective. MB was a very good OC last year with all these weapons. MB is not the problem; it's Kirby’s conservative approach on O (the same reason we cannot recruit elite WRs).

Kirby’s conservative approach has served us well in the past because of our great personnel, an advantage I’m not sure we have anymore. Whomever our OC is will be under KS’s control, unless it’s somebody like Monken, who negotiated a “free hand” as the OC before he accepted the job. We have two national championships primarily due to the perfect combination of good coaching and superior personnel. Let’s hope it continues, but I believe some changes are gonna have to be made in our conservative O approach and the signing of more talented players. GO DAWGS!!

My Recap of Year and game.

Poor O-line Play all year, Sub-Par WR. Our #1 is at best a #3 a RB room that couldn't stay healthy. Sub-par play calling all year didn't allow us to put anyone away and we got our backup QB 0 time on the year to have him ready for this game, played ok but has to fix that windup of a throw(has a rocket when he does). I still believe in Kirby.

This game was decided in about a 30 sec span the Turnover and TD and the KR to start the 2nd qtr. Got out-coached a little today, I will say last year's team would have won this game by 30. Go Dawgs and hopefully we find some playmakers in the Portal

Obviously pissed about the loss. But excited about the opportunity to improve in a lot of spots. Seems like we got some soul searching to do in what could be an inflection point of a season next year

3 things that killed us tonight………

1). The offensive line played poorly. Changes need to be made here as recruiting and development have suffered since Sam Pittman left. Gunner played well but was running for his life or getting blindsided. No running game to speak of.

2). That damn kickoff return for a TD

3). Credit ND coach with the punt/go-for-it ploy. It was obviously intended to draw us offside and it worked. Kirby couldn’t afford to waste the timeout and had to trust the guys not to bite on it.

Great Year. Great team.

Loved watching this team. Even through all of their faults. I feel bad for a lot of fans who seemed to be immiserated by this team. I've witnessed plenty of teams in my life that could have had an absolutely abysmal record with the adversity this team fought through. There were games that would have been absolute blowouts in a former era that we came back to win. Hoping you guys get some perspective on that soon. This is still arguably one of the top 5 UGA teams I've got to watch in my lifetime... We have rivals that would absolutely kill to have the season we just did, and for the most part you guys didn't really have fun with it.

We have to get better though, and I think we will. Definitely our worst year for detail oriented football in a while. Offense and defense. Excited about the offseason. Excited about the incoming recruits. I think we have a chance of improving in most positions on the team, even through internal promotions. Looking forward to the new blood at WR. I'm only truly worried about OT moving forward, but we'll see how that goes.

Go Dawgs. Can't wait for G-Day.
