Please stop using last year’s SECCG scenario to defend a position that if we lose this year’s SECCG we’ll be left out of the playoffs….

Last year and this year aren’t the same.

Last year had two undefeated P5 conference champions. They were both getting in.

Alabama was the SEC champ. They were getting in. Texas beat Alabama at home. Texas was getting in.

It’s not hard to understand.

If we lose to ATM or Texas we’re not out of the playoffs. They’re not going to leave Georgia out of the playoffs with losses at Bama, Ole Miss and the SECCG.

Kirby’s narrative about it being tough to win on the road in the SEC was reinforced this week.

Quit worrying about the SECCG being a negative. It’s an extreme positive. Win and likely get a path of ND, PSU, and OSU for the title. Without the SECCG it was likely going to be at Bama, Oregon, OSU for the title.

Enjoy the ride.

Gump playoff elimination tears......

A Spaghetti Western minus Clint Eastwood sucks Gump:
The Good- I can’t think of a single thing

The Bad- Game Plan and execution.

The ugly- Milroe worst game of his career. WRs were listles. OL was no hum. And coaches did nothing to fix in game problems. Just really sad

What's the buyout? Gump: We need to fire DeBoer. No 8-2 Bama team heading to the playoffs should play this badly against a 5-5 team.

Cold War era Gump: I haven't seen Bama play this badly since Ray Perkins.

Bright side Gump: One good thing is we just made $100,000 from the crowd rushing the field.

Tony Soprano Gump: Milroe better go into witness protection after destroying our program. CKD isn’t far behind.

Thank the Good Lord for Hugh Freeze Gump: Just beat Auburn. That's all we have at this point.

Imagine losing to Vandy and that not being your worst loss Gump: I thought the Vandy loss was embarrassing. That was tame by comparison

Back when Tennersee was national champs: Largest loss to an unranked team since 1998

Oh the humanity Gump: I was worried this game could be competitive, but I never imagined this. I'd forgotten what this caliber of Alabama football was like. My brain wants there to be some missing piece of the puzzle, something other than what might have been the worst an Alabama team has looked this century.

I have sinned Gump: Well I'm going to have to ask for forgiveness in church tomorrow for hoping Milroe was out for the season after walking off for one play... But I was so hopeful Ty would stay in!

I got my pitchfork. Who else is with me? Gump: And as far as the coaches go, I don’t give a rip if you can beat Georgia and LSU if you can’t coach your team well enough to beat middling conference bottom dwellers. You are useless to me. Find a new job.

Milroe should be federally prosecuted Gump: I think Ty is good enough, but for two years now the team has been held hostage by an incompetent player and his sycophants and Ty hasnt really gotten the chance to get the reps or show his ability........and now the new coach has the same issue

Time to rebuild Gump:
Hot take here but im gonna just be honest: KDB and his entire staff can go. Fire them. They WILL not win a championship at Alabama. How in the world do you NOT bench Milroe after that pick 6. He aint cut out for SEC play and the quicker Byrne figures that out the better.

We could've had Thorne Gump: I can’t wrap my brain around it. I don’t want to ride him too hard because he’s a kid, but Milroe may be the worst starting quarterback in all of college football. I understand he’s super athletic, but that does you no good when every team we play knows he can’t throw the football. His football IQ is terrible and if it wasn’t for some great catches his completion percentage would probably be somewhere in the 30 to 40% range. The fact that coaches can’t figure this out baffles me.

I need a new hobby Gump: It’s not fun anymore.

"Mama said if you can't say something good, don't say anything. So we played OU tonight and that's all I have to say about that" Gump: Since I have nothing positive to say about the entire football program, I will sign off for the night.

Shula would be an upgrade Gump: We never got blown out under Shula. Those walk ons and 3 stars played their hearts out.

"I know they say Rome wasn't built in a day, but does anyone know if their empire fell in a day?" Gump: What makes me sad is it seems like to me from the outside that the culture that Saban spent 16 years building up is gone in one season. I know the last couple seasons we have seen cracks in it but the dam burst tonight. KDB will not be the solution. A entire House cleaning needs to happen.

"Milroe using NIL to keep his job" Gump:
Ty CAN run the offense.

He’s not being allowed to because our team is held hostage by Lank monies.

#4 is PAYING other players with LANK profits.

If he gets benched their pay goes away.

How can anyone give up on Ty Simpson when he’s never even been given a shot for off the field stuff that has nothing to do with him?

"It's all one man's fault: Nick Saban" Gump:
Just go back and read the threads after Vandy and UT, we know the issues. CKD needs to take this down to the studs rebuild. I said it before and will reiterate again Saban left him an absolute mess of a lockerroom. Saban thought NIL was going to be some kids making change doing radio commercials.

If Im CKD, Im mad as hell and Im cleaning house in the offseason.

Yes, but are you 6A or 7A? Gump:

Doesn't matter who is calling the offense when it is so drastically handcuffed by the QB. We have a high school QB starting so we get a high school offense...

Kaleb "The Weeknd" Deboer Gump: Post game interview not great, blamed lights a few times, and seems to be blind at qb no criticism made

maxresdefault.jpg

They running a daycare in Tuscaloosa Gump: Saban treated players like men. This staff treats players like fragile minded toddlers.

"We need some table slamming" Gump: DeBoer is not Kelly. He will not publicly vilify players. Whatever needs to be said will be in private

"Deboer's press conference is a standup routine" Gump: This has to be a joke at this point, right?

"Why postpone the inevitable?" Gump: Oh for crying out loud. If he actually said that, fire him now!

"Leslie Nielsen's counting on the staff to turn this around" Gump: This is game 11, if the culture of leading , preparing and working hard is still an issue, we have problems across the board. It’s not just the QB.

airplane-goodluck.gif

Aladdin Gump: I cannot believe this team missed out on the playoffs with 12 spots. That’s absolutely insane.

Bammer trivia Gump:
A couple tough-to-swallow snippets I saw on Reddit:

Maine scored more than we did.

By the composite metrics, we are the most talented team in NCAAF, with 17 5 stars.

Locker room speech Gump: Here's the problem with just being steady and "consistent" - this is alabama football! We bleed crimson, we live this! We're passionate about it! I want a coach that hates losing, that hates the thought of playing bad. That holds everyone to a high standard. I want emotion, because, guess what?? Every bama fan watches with emotion!!! The coach better be even more upset than me when things go wrong

A record breaking season Gump: I expected to lose about 3 games. The problem is which 3 games we lost, and how completely unprepared and incompetent we looked in losing them. We broke streaks and stats for things that haven’t been a problem in this program since before cell phones became ubiquitous. Since before the great TF server meltdown.

Portal blues Gump: Caleb Downs scored more points today than the Bama offense did.

And just when you thought it couldn't get any worse Gump: auburn just won... what a sucky night

A Special Day in Athens with My Son

Sorry for the length of the post if you’re not a father this post may not matter much to you.

Yesterday was one of those days I’ll never forget. I had the chance to take my son, Gaines who is almost 2, to his very first UGA football game, and it was so much more than just another Saturday in Athens for me.

This year has been tough after losing my dad earlier in the year, and days like this have taken on a whole new meaning. The weather was absolutely beautiful, and while the opponent may not have created the same electricity as, say, Tennessee last weekend, this game was special in its own way. Sometimes I get caught up, like many of us do, in thinking these kinds of games are “meaningless.” But yesterday, for me, it meant everything.

I decided to give away my regular seats in Section 315 and buy lower bowl tickets to make the experience even better for my son. I wanted him to have the best possible view and soak in the full game day atmosphere—and he absolutely did. From the tailgate to the moment we walked into the stadium, he was in awe.

Gaines loves Friday night football, but yesterday was next level for him. Seeing his eyes light up at the sights and sounds of Sanford Stadium was something I’ll always treasure. It was a reminder that, at its core, this game is about moments like these—sharing it with family and passing on our love for Georgia football to the next generation.

What made it even more special were a few coaches on staff reaching out to see how he enjoyed the experience. It was such a thoughtful gesture and capped off what was already an unforgettable day.

To me, this is what it’s all about—family, tradition, and making memories that last a lifetime. Yesterday wasn’t just a game; it was a chance to connect with my son in a way that meant the world to both of us. Go Dawgs!

Wish I could share all of the pictures we took ha.

Here’s why I think we should be in regardless of what happens…

Georgia will finish 6-2 in the league.

If Texas and Tennessee win, we will be tied only with Tennessee at 6-2, with Texas at 7-1.

If Texas A&M and Tennessee win there will be a 4 way tie at 6-2( Georgia, Tennessee , Texas and Texas A&M).

If you leave Georgia out, even if they lose to both Tech and the SECCG, you do two things:

You send a clear message that the regular season doesn’t matter, and that you can be penalized for making the championship game and losing.

Of course, this committee could completely fugg this up. And we will have 4 losses lol.

Therefore, we have to win 1 of 2.

“Expanded Playoff will render regular season meaningless”…….

It was always the dumbest argument because obviously having 20+ teams with a legit shot late in the season to control their national championship destiny on the field makes 5x as many games more meaningful every week. Years ago good teams were eliminated in week 2.

Today is exactly what those of us who argued against this idiotic argument predicted. Validation.

WHEN, I said WHEN we win the SEC, what quarter final game site would we be in?

How are the quarterfinal sites chosen? Highest seed gets first choice, followed by 2, 3, 4?

Quarterfinal game sites
Rose, Peach, Sugar, Fiesta

Oregon/Ohio winner would choose Rose?
We’d choose Peach?
ACC winner Sugar?
Fiesta goes Boise?

Winning the SEC sets us up nicely. We’d get a couple weeks off, home game, then winner of the 7/10 game

Sure it’s a hard game, but let’s just grow a pair and win the SEC rather than complain about it
