they are not a great TEAM right now.” I wish more people understood that both statements can be true. This TEAM hasn’t played great all year long. Missed tackles, bad angles, missed assignments…folks this is on coaching and development. The Defense was suppose to be the strength of this team and they couldn’t cover my grandma with a blanket. The Offense has zero players that can take over a game (missing a Gurley, Chubb, Pickens, Bowers…and yes a Bennett IV). The OL was suppose to be the best in the Nation, and they haven’t been able to dominate any game to this point.

This loss comes down to coaching and preparedness, and the rest of the season and playoffs hopes will come down to that as well. The good news is, Kirby’s TEAMS has proven to get better as the season goes along. We will just have to see how the players develop and respond the rest of the way.

That was the biggest thing that stood out to me. When watching replays, we just seem to run straight lines. No head fakes. No false steps. No double moves.
We just look so easy to cover. That's why Ladd was so great. His detail on footwork and cuts were 10 times better than anything I saw last night.

It’s amazing what happens when receivers get open.

Our receiving coaching is not good..the routes are bad. We couldn’t get separation until 2nd half.

We took the lead in that game last night. Of course I wish we finished but damn I never thought we had a chance to even get within striking distance

Two weeks ago it was …….. this is exactly what we needed. This was a perfect setup for Alabama,

We shouldn’t be “learning” at this point. 2 out of the last 3. All week in here “we are better at every position except RB and QB. The only narrative I saw come true is we have no real stars, or if we do, our staff can’t use them correctly.

I may be wrong but I’m not buying the “we will be better and learn from this”. No shit. We should improve after every game. With this QB combined with this effort, we will be damn lucky to make the CFP. The refs didn’t save Alabama tonight and I’m not buying the learning narrative.

I was woken up at 3am Friday morning to the crash of trees taking out the power lines running through my back yard.
As dawn broke, I watched in fear through my living room window as 5 massive trees went down 1 by 1 counting my blessings that all barely missed my house.
When the storm passed, we walked our neighborhood and took in the utter destruction. 60+ foot tall trees were down everywhere. We are talking large oaks and maples several 10+ feet around. Everyone with a chainsaw was doing all they could just to clear paths for vehicles to get around.
By nightfall, no water was coming out of the tap. Power and cell service were long gone.
Saturday afternoon we finally heard that the highways were back open and we loaded up to leave town, not exactly sure where we were headed, and with no idea if our family in south GA and TN we’re ok from the storm.
I can’t put into words the relief we felt when we finally heard their voices and knew they were ok.
Driving out of town, we saw some of the flooding from the river. Whole areas of town are underwater.
We made it my family’s house in time for kickoff. As disappointed as I was with the first quarter, it paled in comparison to the heartbreak from the videos on instagram I watched during timeouts showing houses being washed down river.
The dawgs fought back hard with resilience that can be proud of.
Waking this morning, safe and sipping coffee, it’s hard to be too upset with the game when seeing clips of 100s ofmy fellow Ashevillians standing in line at the only open grocery store in town hoping to get in to grab some water and bread.
It’s crazy to think that our mountain town 400+ miles from the coast could be utterly wrecked by a hurricane.
I don’t know when I’ll go back home. It’s likely weeks before we will have our basic utilities again.
But I know WNC and Asheville will come back stronger. And I know the dawgs will too.

Post game thoughts:
- hate losing to bama but we will build on this.
- 2 loss UGA makes playoff. But we can run the table. Missing sec championship would be a good thing as long as we make the playoff
- coaches are great at adjustments but let’s translate that to game planning
- o line played really well
- wide outs showed out. Colby was a weapon. Evans getting some play is a good sign.
- We need to be a more vertical offense than horizontal offense. Less screens. More deep shots to set up run.
- Frazier is too dangerous to not play a single snap
- Beck showed some grit. First pick wasn’t his fault with Arian running wrong route. Last one was only partly his fault. Young didn’t fight for the ball.
- Luckie should start at tight end. Yurosek shouldn’t play
- defense showed how elite they are once adjustments were made. Remember 2021 d gave up 40+ bama.
- Starks had a very bad game.
- Bolden tackles. Need to get him on the field.

Why is he even playing? He can’t be the best option there. We have had trouble setting the edge all year and he has been notably bad (not just this year either). I think that might have been the number one area they came in trying to exploit and were able to whenever they wanted to in the first 20 min. It’s been so apparent to us fans the last few years. What am I missing and why can’t we find someone who can do this consistently?

But after watching the Williams TD our 2 DBs made very little effort of defending or tackling him…looked scripted. And on the last Beck interception Young made no effort to adjust…makes you wonder after watching those closely. BTW so much money in betting now a days.

Switch receiver corps last night and it makes a difference. I’m only addressing the offensive side of the ball. The D had its own problems early. But we have to sign or pay a couple of these highly rated wr’s that we lose to Alabama and OSU (or elsewhere). Having Luther Burden would have been nice.
Running wrong routes (coaching too) and dropping passes is killing us.
While I’m ranting, a couple dominant tackles wouldn’t hurt us any. And how is it possible we have the defensive back guru of college football but our corners (who are 4/5*} play so poorly?
