Last year regular season. We Played Missouri, ole miss, and Tenn. Ended up legit teams

Yet a weekly mention was our schedule sucked. As if we were in the ACC or something

Wasn't a super hard schedule for sure but felt like it was a HUGE reminder every week made to remind everyone we cannot make a mistake! (The preemptive nature is what bugs me and not HOW it played out...there was an effort to say UGA isn't that great they play nobody. Haven't heard that theme this year at all with teams at the top).

So this season.

Texas will have played at Michigan (new coach and basically whole new team and they don't seem good) hmmm didn't they already lose to another crap team

Oklahoma (down 5 wrs)...good defense but seriously

Then us (this is the only reason their schedule is harder than ours last year imo)

But then... ark and Tex am? So at end of the season, what are the odds they only play one other playoff team or none if we lose another on the road?

That is their gauntlet? Have heard nothing on a national scale about their schedule. And that is fine..just felt odd last year that it was beaten and beaten and then we lose one game by 3 on a neutral field and voila.

The two biggest threats to a free society

1) When the citizen understands they can vote for benevolence from the country

2) When the politician understands he can sell benevolence

Benevolence from the government contradicts the very foundation of our economic system and places the citizen in a master/slave relationship with the government as the citizen is controlled and led on a monetary promise that is not based on value of responsibility of the citizen to society, but the value of the citizen to the politician.

Government benevolence is redistribution of wealth and once that occurs, the citizens voice is quieted.

When a politician promises a handout, they are feeding the hogs for slaughter. Hogs are fed for a single reason.

Films from 1981 attest to the fact that American once made very good movies... and, a lot of them:

  • Fort Apache, The Bronx
  • The Postman Always Rings Twice (yeah, a remake, but good)
  • Atlantic City
  • Nighthawks
  • The Howling
  • Polyester
  • History of the World, Part I
  • Raiders of the Lost Ark
  • The Cannonball Run
  • Stripes
  • S.O.B.
  • Arthur
  • Blow Out
  • Prince of the City
  • Gallipoli
  • Body Heat
  • Das Boot
  • The French Lieutenant's Woman
  • Mommie Dearest
  • Southern Comfort
  • True Confessions
  • Time Bandits
  • Porky's
  • Ragtime
  • On Golden Pond
  • Reds
  • Absence of Malice
  • Chariots of Fire
  • Taps
  • Modern Problems

NonDawg Jimbo on XM Radio

I’ve got to say I have enjoyed hearing Jimbo on XM Radio on Tuesdays. He’s on with two of his former players, EJ Manuel and Jacob Hester. It’s always a great conversation and if you can keep up with Jimbo’s rapid fire dialect you will get some great insights to past and future games. I’m sure many others on here have heard these segments as well. Thoughts?

Since bakermb asked for it, Here's where Texas' opponents rank defensively...

Instead of hijacking my other thread, I figured I'd just start a new one for discussion of that side of the ball. @bakermb

UGA: 20th ppg / 28th ypg / 39th pass ypg

OK: 27th / 48th / 77th
Mich: 56th / 44th / 111th
MSU: 117th / 125th / 115th
UTSA: 108th / 85th / 128th
ULM: 32nd / 53rd / 37th
CSU: 100th / 104th / 120th

So even with as poorly as UGA's defense has looked, they will still be the best (by a decent margin) overall defense that Texas has faced.

And again I'll say I don't know how this game will play out and I'm not trying to spread any false hope. Just offering this up as a data point for conversation.

Will be interesting how a JoeB who legit doesn’t want Harris to win will behave….

after being pushed out, you think he doesn’t have the biggest chip on his shoulder of all time? Dude is ego driven. He is publicly toeing the line but does anyone actually believe he wants Harris to win?

Hell no. He and his whole family want to be able to say I told you so. Don’t be surprised if some backchannel backstabbing takes place. Dude still occupied the most powerful post on planet Earth. If he wants to poke the Kamala voodoo dolll, he will.

Without a doubt the toughest part of getting to be a geezer is

not putting up with aching joints, or listening to some clown on a message board making fun of you for being old (er) ? I'm not sure what the line is and I always laugh to myself and think it's coming sooner than you think brother. No, the hardest part, by far, is outliving good friends, some that have been there for virtually your entire life. We all lose people we love as we go through life, but most of the time it is a singular event and we grieve and move on. But, when one reaches a certain age the deaths can come quickly and sometimes several, it seems, almost at once. I understand that to lose friends, you had to have them in the first place and that thought along with remembering the good times is what gets you through.

Tell folks you love them while you can.
