Let’s talk going for 2

Boston College was down 20-2 and just scored a TD with a little over 6 to go.

At 20-8, why go for 2 there? Why not kick the PAT and make it 11? That way, you have the option to kick a FG if you get the ball back and extend the game. You extend the game.

I realize you’re eventually going to have to get a 2 to tie when you’re down 18 (8+7+3), but why go for 2 before you absolutely HAVE to?

NonDawg Mizzou caravan

On my way out from Columbia (MO) this morning, heading east. Multiple vehicles rolling along I-70 towards St. Louis - and Nashville beyond. Flying their cute little Mizzou flags on their cute little Tiger cars. And their adorable little Tiger stickers all over.

I said it out loud. To no one in particular. Because, mainly, I was driving alone to go fetch some grandkids from the Bootheel corner of Misery. Had to say it, "Follow me to the Irrelevant Bowl". "C'mon, everybody. We're #1! Go Tigers!"

I hope they win. These folks are pretty pitiful when they lose.

Urban Meyer Makes Georgia-Notre Dame Prediction

Despite his past - where he served as the receivers coach for the Fighting Irish - Urban Meyer didn't let his past allegiance bleed into his predictions for the Sugar Bowl matchup between Georgia and Notre Dame. The former Ohio State head coach and now-turned Fox Sports analyst agrees with the Bulldogs being favored by oddsmakers and is predicting Georgia to remain undefeated all-time versus Notre Dame.

"I stare at these point spreads and I think they're right on," Meyer said during his Triple Option Podcast. "However, with Notre Dame, how are the players going to respond when they see a high draft pick across from them? Because they haven't seen that... I think the point spread is right... I'm going to go with Georgia to cover."

Media picks....

It's weird. I keep hearing each of these media guys picking against us talk about how "everyone is enamored with the brand and are not really looking at the situation objectively", but I can't find that many picking UGA. They're acting like they are going against the grain but are in fact right in line with it.

Ryan Russillo: Notre Dame

Went to Basketball game today

Back in the 90s lived in Athens for school and after and use to walk to the games and loved that ability to just see sports so casually.

Loved the hoop Dawgs back with pertha, K2, Anderson, strong, claxton etc etc...

Have been to a few games in Athens after the 90s but don't live there so very far and few and in between.

Took 3 of my daughters and wife today (kids first game).

What a great experience and this despite having the worst first half ever. Combination of extremely bad free throw shooting and butter on the ball that seemed to always land in the other teams hands and we looked like ass.

That said, we have a squad. The comeback was awesome and it actually made the experience way better than if we had coasted the whole game.

Anyhow

Gooo Dawgs!

I believe

I don’t think we’ll hoist the MNC this year, but…

After all the blue collar, lunch pail, gym rat talk this week, daggum I would love for a kid like Gunner to win one after EVERYONE has left us for dead - including us, lol.

That’s also a big “Hey we’re still the 500lb gorilla in the room, even without the star power, respect, or ridiculously shiny NIL deals.
