Complaining about playoff rankings

All this complaining about playoff rankings has a Florida State stench to it. Better get the mind right and beat Georgia Tech ass.

What do we really have to complain about? Any other year with two losses and not going to the SEC championship game we are out…. I for one am loving the new system.

In my opinion, we have yet to play our best game. If we can find it, we can still win it all if we don’t it doesn’t matter.

If anything is getting under my skin right now, it's hearing people like Matt Barrie and others

keep saying we had a weak schedule last year. In the regular season we played the number 8, 9 and 17 teams in the final poll last year. They talk about this comparing it to Indiana this year trying to say Indiana should be where they are and it's just program prestige bias. We can't break the narrative that started at the beginning of the year last year, despite that schedule obviously being much stronger than originally thought. At this time last year we had just gone three straight weeks playing Mizzou, Ole Miss and Tennessee.

The scary thing for the rest of CFB..

The Dawgs have beat three top 17 teams this season all by 14+ points and yet I am not sure that we played better than our ‘B+’ game in any of them.

If this team can get healthy these next few weeks and start becoming a little more consistent (mainly just cut down on turnovers) then we are going to be VERY difficult to beat in the playoff. I am interested to see these next two weeks but Kirby might have us peaking at the right time..

Going into some really tough games this weekend we need to

clean up the careless turnovers. You never see very good teams with more than 10 tos per game. Free throws are also a concern as we are going to be in a lot of close games from here on out and fts will be huge in those games. All of our guards should shoot 75% or better. And Asa has to good a stroke not to be over 70%.

I think we are overreacting to current rankings...

I'm not as outraged by it all yet. The Committee, IMO, is looking at this more holistically than their critics. That is to say it's not necessarily a snapshot in current time, but taking into account both what's been played as well as what's left to be played.

Look at who is inflated. They've sort of set up Texas and Indiana because they know what's left on their schedule.

If Indiana beats OSU, their record and ranking is validated. If they get whipped, they'll drop them like a rock, IMO.

If Texas beats A&M and wins SEC CG, #3 is validated. If they lose either, there's the justification to drop them behind say, UGA. Similar for Bama, actually.

Miami will need to win the ACC CG. If they win that and finish 12-1, I'm ok with them at 8. If they lose, the committee has positioned them to be left out.

Penn State and Notre Dame are static. They won't move up or down based on any of this fallout, IMO. They won't automatically move up just because someone in front of them loses.

In the meantime, take personal pride and offense out of this. How high do we really want to go? 5 is ideal but isn't happening. 8 or 9 gives you the 1 seed in second round, which is probably Oregon or Ohio State.

Of course, we could draw a Bama or Texas or Ole Miss in the first round, but be careful what you wish for on these seedings. I'm kind of cozy right where we are plus the added bonus of an additional week off to get healthy.

While we are gnashing teeth, everyone else is praying they don't draw UGA in the first or second round.

This will all work out.
