The 2019 team, lots of similarities, a QB that had proved himself in previous seasons who lost confidence and struggled with accuracy, a thin under talented receiving core and just doesn’t seem to have the “it” factor….
When we do have a star player, we don't feature them. For example, a RB will get a hot hand and get a few first downs, then coaches pull him. We'll never have an actual Heisman contender at any positon because of this either.
That I would not give up on this team. And I won’t. I’ll watch every snap and cheer my ass off. But… they are flawed like we are not recently accustomed to seeing.
It’s been said on this board that we were lucky to get a natty (or two) before the NIL era got rolling and I think that’s accurate. I’m sure we’ll figure it out but, current game and season to date record aside, this just does not feel like the year.
