Good afternoon.

Never be pissed by a 14 win over that team. However we should have had at least 14 more points and that would have pushed that teams total likely by 10. This is the Beck of a couple of years ago in practice. He knows it has to be fixed pretty fast . He is struggling a lot . Probably can be viewed in 2 areas. Confidence and trust. He can do it but to what degree idk. Drops showed some improvement. Tackling was better with room for more improvement. Penalties were better also Frazier ran hard and Cash had a good game. TD was all desire. Receivers still need separation most of the time. Other team dared us to pass by bringing pressure which hindered the ground game. Physically we won by a wide margin. Overall defense played well but could use better run tackling. Also i would like for the dl get more disruptive. I know we can't but if the 3 picks never happened most people would have been very happy with the result. As always GO DAWGS!!!

Richt & Kirby starting QBs, ranked by their legacy

A lot of talk about Beck’s legacy recently so I figured I’d do this. I don’t think my personal list would look exactly like this, but I’ve talked about UGA football a lot over the years and consider myself very knowledgeable, and I think this is a fair assessment of how the fanbase as a whole rates Richt/Kirby era starting QBs. Obviously Beck’s story is still being written and things can change for him, but I think this is fair for now.

Tier GOAT - The Greatest

Bennett

Nothing needs to be said.

Tier 1 - Elite

Murray
Stafford

Remembered extremely fondly by almost all UGA fans, only real fun argument/debate is how they would do if they played on Kirby teams.

Tier 2 - Legends

Greene
Shockley

Great players who won the SEC, but we’re getting so old that we have a lot of fans who didn’t watch them or don’t remember. Important to educate the youth about how good they were.

Tier 3 - Argument Inducers

Beck
Fromm

Won a lot of games and started multiple seasons, but will always stir up debates between Georgia fans who don’t agree on exactly how good or not good they were. Stafford would most likely be here too if he didn’t have the NFL success he had. Beck gets out of this tier if he wins a championship at UGA or has a great NFL career like Stafford, but if he keeps throwing picks and the team doesn’t reach its goals, this is where his UGA legacy ends up.

Tier 4 - The Rest

Cox
Mason
Lambert
Tereshinski

Multi game starters who, fairly or not, the majority of fans didn’t and don’t think were all that good as players.

Transferred

Daniels
Fields
Eason
Mathis

Could have put them in my ranking and made a fun troll post, but this isn’t a troll post so they’re being excluded.

Sanford Stadium Question

We are taking our 4 year old to her first UGA game against UMass. May be a stupid question but I know there is a clear bag policy, does that also apply if we buy things from the bookstore before the game? (as in the bag they put the merchandise in) Or would it be smarter to wait until after the game to buy stuff? I've been to games recently but haven't tried to buy stuff at the bookstore on game day in a very long time. Thanks for the advice

There was a 3rd and 2 yesterday

The play that was ran made no sense to me. It was a critical 3rd down. What was the rationale given?
--------------------------------------Edited to give more detail-------------
It was 4th quarter at the 13:32 mark. Score was 20-13. 3rd and 2 on our own 33 yard line. It was right after the facemask that was not called on Frazier.
Beck was sacked on the play, and we had to punt. prior to that we had been running the ball effectively on them.

The truth is that Beck and Bobo both deserve blame

Beck is clearly off. Looking down receivers, throwing into triple coverage, not realizing the LBs can fall back into coverage especially when Beck is in the pocket for 4 seconds, not throwing the ball away, not going to checkdowns, not seeing the entire field, bad footwork, stepping out to the left oddly on several throws, and surely more.

Beck deserves blame for the above. However, so does Bobo. Beck’s problems are not new. He has made the same mistakes for the past 5 games while throwing 11 interceptions.

What that means is that Bobo has had six weeks including a bye week to help him improve. Whatever Bobo has been coaching for the past month and a half is not getting through. That is on the coach.

Maybe Bobo is saying all the right things, and Beck is just tuning him out. In that case, maybe Beck needs to hear it from a new voice. However, when a talented QB is playing that poorly for that long, the coach deserves blame.

Beck has regressed. That is equally on Beck and Bobo.

First round talent

This whole team seems down with top end first round caliber talent. Before the season, Beck, Mykel, & Starks were being discussed heavily as almost first round locks.

Mykel's injury & production hasn't helped him but I still think he'll go first round (likely middle of the round). Starks imo won't go first round anymore. Beck may not get drafted til the 3rd day at this rate.

The only player who imo has helped his draft stock & played himself into first round consideration is Jalon Walker.

I think UGA will have 2 players drafted round 1 next April. Mykel Williams & Jalon Walker (both in the middle to latter half of the first round).
