Why are the CoP trolls here? (College of Pittsburgh) Who was the Pitt dope that made that comment?

I know there are good people at PSU who truly mourn for the victims and their families...but.
The sanctions were far too lenient considering the heinous crimes allowed to continue for the sake of protecting the program. I think a 10 year death sentence for the football program would have been justice and needed to make it absolutely clear horrendous crimes within institutions will carry very dire institutional penalties.
Wrong I graduated from Georgia. I was a big Paterno fan until I studied this case. Nobody in their right mind would even consider that Joe Paterno did the right thing. I'm sorry. He knew that something wasn't right and waited a whole weekend to report it. Read the Grand Jury report again. They never tried to find the the little boy. He never follow up with his superiors. 10 years passed and no one did anything about Sandusky. Of all the people that could have something about it, it was Paterno. He had the power and would have been praised for it. This was just one incident. You should be ashamed for supporting him. You all should be ashamed. Only he knows why he didn't do anything. He never told us. He chose to be silent.
It took a boy's mother that was wondering why her son's hair was wet to bring Sandusky down, not Joe Paterno.
The sad part is that you think it's over. It's not over. Like it or not, your beloved University will forever be associated with Sandusky and child rape. And rightfully so, you and your like still defend him to this day. Ask anyone other than a Penn Stater and they will tell you what they think.
If Vince Dooley or Mark Richt had done such a thing, I would be pissed at him, not at the people condemning his inaction. Rather you JoeBots keep trying to defend and support Paterno no matter what. You rioted in the streets over this man. Shame on you...
I held Paterno on a higher moral level than other coaches, similar to what I now hold Richt.
If this had been Richt, I would have been devastated on a very personal level. It would shake My already jaded view of humanity. If CMR isn't real, is anybody ?
I can imagine the internal struggle the better PSU fans must have gone through.
I would have come to the right conclusions, I'm sure of it, as painful as it would have been.
I also know many, probably most UGA fans would have found a way to rationalize things, it would be too much to expect everybody to advocate extreme institutional punishment, people are too connected to The Program to take that step.

1. I was a big Paterno fan until I studied this case - I, too, was a big Paterno fan. He was a hero to me. That being said, when the reports first came out accusing him of "knowing" or "covering-up" my first instinct was disappointment and betrayal. It was later realized that I was fooled by a rush to judgement and reporting, to which modern media has become accustomed. Until I studied the case and examined the facts with an open mind, I discovered my initial emotional reaction was wrong.
2. Nobody in their right mind would even consider that Joe Paterno did the right thing. - Not factual. Read the Jim Clemente report, being a former FBI and master criminal profiler, he is very credible. The is a long list of additional supporters with no associated with PSU, including RAINN.
3. They never tried to find the the little boy. - You're referring to the police and investigators, that was not the job of Joe Paterno (who never saw anything fist hand, thus is not a credible witness for investigators)
4. He never follow up with his superiors. - You don't know that, I don't know that. Again, it was not his job to get involved with the investigation, unless he witnessed something first hand, which he didn't.
5. Of all the people that could have something about it, it was Paterno. He had the power and would have been praised for it. - he did not have the power. He was not a police officer, he was a football coach. There is no evidence of him knowing anything more than accusations which should have been handled by investigators.

But if a man who was the face of the university for 61 years was just fired over a phone call in the middle of the night due to mere allegations, I would expect people to be angry. Tipping over a media truck was the only damage, so I would hardly call it a riot - but that is your perspective I guess.
Do I think he should have done more? I think in hindsight many people wish they realized who Sandusky truly was, but he was a master deceptor. He fooled many people. If you read Jim Clemente, you will learn more about it. Blaming those heinous acts on a football culture fail to highlight the real issue. It's not all black and white, but raw emotions tend to make it seem that way.
You have to understand PSU fans love their university like any group of fans. We looked at Joe Paterno as a hero, not just because he won 409 games, but because he did things the right way. If you understand that, maybe you can understand why so many fans have a hard time believing he would cover something up - and right now, there is absolutely no evidence that he did - in fact, it's almost absurd to believe that narrative unless you have an ulterior motive. AKA, the NCAA or the media (which thrives on the juicy story, rather than the truth).

It is ABSOLUTELY CLEAR Paterno willfully looked the other way while children were being raped. Only PSU people refuse to acknowledge that obvious truth.
This was going on at the same time Joe-Pig was telling people He'd quit when HE decided to quit and nobody could make Him do otherwise. He'd lost perspective by then, but I never dreamed He'd resort to not only sheiding a pedophile, but allowing him to continue raping children on PSU Athletics property.

Not to keep him quiet. Mike already testified to that. Mike gave an unspecific report. If Mike saw anything he needed to go to the police. Paterno did all that was required of him. I see your pal can't answer about "sodomy", because there was none.

Do yourself a favor and learn the FACTS. There were no 'victims' of Jerry Sandusky. The whole thing was an orchestrated attempt to frame JoePa and the rest. These 'victims' were coached up by the PA state cops and Mcqueary was and still is a liar. All that happened was horseplay which is not illegal in PA.
Because he was a hell of a QB coach and recruiter. Kids related to him and he always acted with honor and class just like JoePa
Joe followed protocol exactly. He would have been arrested if he had intervened in the 'shower incident" which never happened anyway. It was all made up to frame JoePa and the rest. Penn State did the right thing and they were punished unjustly for it by the communist NCAA.
Erroneous on all counts! The facts and evidence do not support the idea that anyone was raped in the showers, and even if such evidence existed, Joe did all that was required of him. Had he done anything else, he could have found himself in violation of the law. Once Joe knew that C/S/S were taking over the investigation, what do you posit that he have done? He was not a witness to any crime!
So he promoted a person who lied about what he saw to Paterno and Paterno promoted him anyway. Isn't that nice?
