Clemson to the Elite 8

I don't wanna hear any more excuses about how coaches can't win here because of NIL, lack of institutional support, lack of fan support, or whatever the reason. I know Clemson fans and Clemson boosters. You cannot convince me that Clemson has significantly better NIL or support for basketball. They just won Sweet 16 game against a blue blood in front of zero of their own fans, after coming into the tournament as a 6 seed out of an ACC that was clearly stronger than people thought. And did it with key players from Georgia to boot.

If Clemson can do it, we can do it. Just need MW to make the right moves.

Insider Note What we are hearing (cops, injury)

Today seemed to be Law Enforcement Day at UGA. They do that once a year and today was the day. A lot of cops out there. The timing is wild.

Early enrolleee quarterback Ryan Puglisi is dealing with an injury.

He has been limited the past couple of days with a bruised knee. But still practicing. Jed noted he was wearing a brace last week.

It really bothered him today. He was limited in practice agaain. He tried to go as usual, but eventually just couldn't anymore.

Those in attendance thought it could be bad but they likely didn't know ahead of time that it was already sore.

We will keep an eye on it just in case.

Bulldogs keeping Rivals250 prospect Rodney Colton Jr. in high spirits

Rodney Colton Jr. didn't get to experience much of his sophomore year due to injury, but he received some encouraging words from the #Georgia staff during a recent visit.

"Coach Smart) told me to stay focused because he knew about my injury."

We have redefined the word “mistake”

We make bad choices but call it a mistake.

A bad choice isn’t a mistake, it’s a choice.

The only part that is a mistake is the part where you assume you are above the consequence of your choices.

Don’t mistake my point, my choice is only to clarify our misuse of the word we use to make excuses to negotiate consequence of our choice.

Own up, suffer the consequence, then get back doing it right.

The Daily Dawg Caller Anniversary of UGA’s win to reach the Final Four

41 years ago today, the Bulldogs’ basketball team celebrated a Final Four appearance, as well.

This is one of my favorite UGA teams of all time. What Durham’s Dogs of 1982-83 lacked in size (none of the Bulldogs’ top eight scorers stood taller than 6-foot-7), they certainly made up for it with speed and athleticism.

The day before this game, UNC All-American forward Sam Perkins was seen as disrespecting Georgia when he claimed on TV that he was “not even sure what conference” the Bulldogs were a part of. Towards the end of the game, a red-clad section of the Carrier Dome crowd began to steadily chant “SEC, SEC, SEC,” essentially informing Perkins of Georgia’s affiliation.

Georgia guard Gerald Crosby following the game: “I kind of sensed it (UNC’s disrespect) when I heard that comment on TV by Sam Perkins that he didn’t know what conference we played in. Players don’t like to hear that kind of thing. We wanted to show Perkins and North Carolina we’re a team, too.”
