Just want to compliment UGA again on increasing the number of replays shown in the stadium...

One of my biggest annoyances for years- including the first half of this season- was that we would ONLY show replays of "good plays" for Georgia. Anything that was a mediocre to bad play for us, or a good play for the opposition, didn't get a replay. Starting with the Tennessee game, we are now showing replays of nearly every single play- good, bad, or indifferent. The few that we don't get are generally if the offense is moving fast and they don't have time. So kudos to our game operations staff for finally getting on board with this.

OpenAI SEC Championship Game Prediction

For fun...

Prediction: UGA vs. Texas SEC Championship Game

Winner: UGA Bulldogs

Reasons for Prediction

  1. Defensive Dominance: UGA's elite defense has consistently proven to be one of the best in the nation. Their ability to limit opposing offenses, especially in high-pressure situations, gives them a significant advantage over Texas.
  2. Control of the Game: UGA’s strong run game allows them to control the tempo and clock, which is crucial in championship games. By establishing the run, they can open up play-action opportunities for their quarterback and keep Texas' offense off the field.
  3. Balanced Attack: The Bulldogs' offensive balance—mixing effective rushing with timely passing—can keep the Texas defense guessing. If UGA can find success early, it will force Texas to adjust, potentially exposing defensive vulnerabilities.
  4. Experience in Big Games: UGA has been in numerous high-stakes situations recently, which can provide them with the composure needed in crucial moments of the game. Their experience in championship settings could be a deciding factor.

Conclusion

While Texas has the offensive firepower to compete, UGA's combination of defensive strength, ability to control the game through the run, and experience in big games makes them the likely winner in this SEC Championship matchup.

RBs and carries... Umm minimum 16-20 for Frazier

Going fwd unless he is just not needed because of the score.

I get Rod is back and I do think he needs plays and some carries but sprinkle it in to spell Frazier .

Cash has more than earned his role which is mostly a 3rd down back type but he should get 5 carries a game if he is in that much just to break tendency.

But we can't lose because we force the ball to Branson and Rod if they are not 100 percent. That Clemson game felt like we were going to lose until we let Frazier loose.

If they are not producing... recognize and scale back.

Phillips needs at least three plays designed for him. A jet sweep maybe, a fake one a jet sweep and a screen imo.

He is explosive.

Starks’ Comments Re: Humphrey

“It’s crazy timing, I’d say,” safety Malaki Starks said. “You know, it’s a weird situation and, you know, I don’t know what I’m allowed to say and what I can speak on, so I wish them the best of luck and, you know, I’m just ready to go back to work.”

I don’t think I’m reading too much into his words when I say it should tell us how players felt about Julian, especially his decision.

Simple minded thoughts on our defense

After watching us all season, I wanted to post some thoughts about our defense.

Lots of people are asking the same question: What is wrong with our defense? It's unlike anything we've seen in the Smart Era.

Are we missing stud players?
Is our scheme too complicated?
Are our players too focused on NIL/NFL?
Have we just been unlucky?

In my opinion, we have abandoned the aggressive mentality that was characteristic of past teams. And I think that comes from the coaches.

Take the first play Tech ran Friday. How many players were flying to the ball? #6 just stood there, as #13 tried to strip the ball. Nobody tried to get the guy on the ground.

We are a reactive, passive defense, that doesn't seem to like contact. It looks like some players HOPE someone else makes the play.

We look content to concede catches, yards, and first downs....and pray we stop them before the endzone.

As I said earlier, I think this is a coaching issue. Why you ask? Because of what I saw in overtime vs Tech.

At the very end, we were aggressive, and our defense suddenly made plays. In the 8th overtime, #3 looked like he was shot out of a cannon, and forced a bad throw. The aggression was the difference imo.

Certainly I'm not in meetings etc. I'm just a fat preacher, who likes football. But I think we have changed our philosophy. We are aren't hunting, we are hoping, and that's the problem.
