Fix College Football in 15 Steps

Thoughts on these ideas to fix College Football?

1. Appoint an independent commissioner for the sport
2. Reform NIL and set "salary caps"
3. Adjust NIL contracts to include at least 2 years of service unless the head coach leaves or is fired. If you wish to transfer within conference, return to the rule where you must sit for a year before playing again in the same conference. This is waved if the head coach leaves or is fired.
4. Eliminate conference championship games or caveat that participants inside the "bubble" after the final regular season games are guaranteed a spot in the playoff
5. Allow for relegation within conferences and base the next year's scheduling off that. Still protect 1 rival per team
6. All conferences should play the same number of conference games
7. Make officials employees of the league rather than having each conference utilize their own officials
8. Slim down the targeting rule. It's too broad and is ruining the sport
9. Institute "down by contact"
10. Harsher penalties for faking injuries. If you are injured on a play, you're out for the series
11. The Commissioner oversees the playoff selection committee. No more having people connected to a school or conference overseeing it
12. Clear criteria for playoff acceptance that is more objective that the committee must follow
13. If you are caught fighting after a game. You’re automatically suspended for the next game.
14. Throwing trash on the field is an automatic unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for the team who’s fanbase engages in the activity
15. All P4 teams must play at least 2 P4 out of conference opponents

Streaming News: FuboTV and Disney Merging Live TV Businesses

Think there may be some regulatory hurdles, but this is a big one as it combines two of the biggest live sports streamers (Disney/ESPN/Hulu and FuboTV).

More consolidation in the industry - higher prices incoming.

One potential positive is that as part of the merger, Fubo is dropping/settling its suit to prevent the Fox/Disney/Warner joint venture for a sports-only streaming platform that is supposed to carry all the pro leagues and college. Hopefully that means no more subsidizing cable streamers or news stations - just sports at reportedly less than $45 a month as of last year - will need to see how this merger impacts that pricing (it aint gonna go down, folks).

1st Half Points

I saw this posted online.. I know we all should know this but seeing it all together.

Georgia 2024 1st half points:
6 - Clemson
3 - Kentucky
7 - Alabama
6 - Florida
7 - Ole Miss
0 - Ga. Tech
3 - Texas
3 - Notre Dame

That’s 35 first-half points in 8 games this season

Don’t tell me we don’t need to make changes. I will also contend our offense needs to move quicker after the rule changes about the clock running.

UPDATE: 01/26 4:30pm I could use some prayers.

First I wanted to Thank all the Dawg brothers & sisters out on the UGA vent. I do fell the love.

Secondly. Update on my mother. I talked to Emory.
It seems they had issues with IVs coming out which is why there is massive bruising on her arms & hands at multiple spots (deep black/blue type bruising).
Another issues was during surgery. The way they were operating her body was not working well.
They had to put her on oxygen. At first they didn’t have to.
Another problem was the anesthesia. I guess it was her age. They were having issues.

Lastly @UpDawg? did create a gofundme. I appreciate taking the time and helping to run it as it shows accountability and everything. As some of you said. Accept it. Move on. Get back on the feet. Be a blessing to others once I get stable.

thank you all again.

To my Dawg Brothers & Sister
My apologies on this being kinda long.

Prayers would be much appreciated. We have several issues as a family. I’ve debated requesting these.

Firstly, My mother recently had surgery this past Friday. 72 years old. The surgery was only to be under 2 hours, but it went from 10am to 6pm. Than another 4-5 hours in recovery and to come home. We weren’t told anything but the surgery went great. She’s home Now. Extreme pain and soreness and lots of pills to take. They want to have another surgery in 2/3 weeks.

Secondly, lift my car in prayer. It died going to pick up my mother’s medication on Saturday. A auto guy told me it was an oil pump but Since it started right up I drove it right home and parked it. It ran today fine around the block. Gonna take it to my main auto guy to get it tested out this week. We really can’t afford another auto expense.

Thirdly, I have a herniated disc that is pressing into my major nerve, resulting in chronic pain throughout. I’ll have to have surgery eventually but having surgery anywhere on my back is kinda worrying me.

Fourthly, pray my wallet becomes full enough to cover the full amount of rent. As of right now It is officially late and still short ($998) but my logistics job hours was terrible and I live in a warehouse town and no one is hiring. I thought about a gofundme but I just can’t. I’m to prideful and I feel that’s for people really needing help.

Thank You Dawg Family for allowing me to bring/vent these requests to you. I feel at the end of my ropes because of the rent, health, and car problems.

Change is in the air..

Nothing is certain but I believe these dominos will fall…

We will have a new OL coach
Bobo will step down. Faulkner is aware but I don’t think it’s 💯 he will come back.

Schu could very well leave. The job openings are about to start and he will get calls. I truly believe Kirby is fine if he takes an NFL or HC job. The next few weeks will be telling.

TRob could be gone but see my next prediction on why not.

Muschamp will be the DC next year. It will be up to him on TRob status. They have worked well together in the past.

Donte will be back. Bummer. I think he has some recruiting traction.

Random thought I had was how to use Coley. Can we get him in a full of full recruiting and bring in a more “fundamentals” coach at the WR position?

The work starts now to make sure we retain Scott and Hartley.

Just spit balling here.
