Here’s what I’ve been saying for two weeks

We don’t realize until Kentucky just how much Bowers and Ladd were covering up.

We got down 7-0 on the road and we needed someone to make a play. Instead we get a bad OPI penalty trying to set a pick.

We get down 14-0 and we throw a bad INT on what looked like a miscommunication (or just a terrible throw?)

We get down 21-0 and we can’t get a first down.

We needed a guy like Ladd or Brock early in that game to get open and make a play and stop the bleeding. We didn’t have it. We did have guys make some great plays downfield in a game Bama thought they’d won already (remember how poorly we defended against UF and LSU in 2022 after we got up big?), and maybe that’s something to build on but that game was lost in the first 20 minutes when no one stepped up on offense to bail our defense out and keep them off the field.

Dropped to #5 in the AP poll.

Relax about this Bama game. This was their Super Bowl.

Hats off to them. They were more prepared than we were.

They had the home field advantage.

Gotta take care of our business in Austin, Oxford, and at home vs the Vols.

Gotta think of these seasons like the NFL now with the 12 team playoff.

What's the solution?

Kirby says we played off their WRs cause threat of Milroe running. While they pressed out WRs n blanketed them on most throws being contested. Do we need a dynamic QB? We can't allow their WRs to get so open. Nico will be sane type of problem and the Volbillies have Nother QB for 2026 class looks to be sane dynamic QB.

Lazy analysis

The laziest of analysts on here will blame Bobo. Flame away but Bobo called a damn fine game. If the defense didn’t decide to spot them 21 in the 1Q and if Beck didn’t turn it over 4x, it would’ve been fine.

Flame away, but those are the facts. We will be fine and will make it to Atlanta to avenge our loss. But if you want to put this loss on someone, Bobo should be quite far down the list.

Get off the boards for a while and you’ll realize WE are blowing this WAY out of proportion

I spent 10 minutes scrolling through Instagram reels and saw many videos from last night. NOT ONE mentioned anything about how horrible Georgia played the first half. Nothing about Kirby being 1-6 against Bama. The comments were all about how it was an instant classic, a championship level game, and #2 is just insane and potentially the best receiver in football. That last touchdown in particular was a crazy catch and run, even though it was poorly defended by us.

There’s PLENTY to work on and fix, but all is not lost. Given how we’re #5 in coaches poll, I don’t think we drop out of the top 5 in AP poll.

Let’s get right this week and expel some demons on Auburn.

ND- Shoulder Replacement Surgery

Has anyone had shoulder replacement surgery? My shoulder is absolutely trashed from 13 years of pitching and 16 years of repetitive manual labor. I have severe osteoarthritis and the pain is definitely getting worse. I was told recovery time is 6-9 months to get back to being active. I'm trying to plan surgery around work responsibilities, home responsibilities, and life in general.

Any advice or experiences you've had is greatly appreciated. Being 48 years old and needing this type of surgery is pretty nerve-racking. Thanks in advance!

I hope we don’t treat that comeback

As who we are. It was great to see the character and the resilience of it, but I would argue that that is a one off and the more accurate indicator of the two teams is what happened in the first half.

We converted five of five on fourth downs, that’s not sustainable or reproducible in most games. Alabama dropped three or four interceptions. In addition to the ones they did get.

I hope I’m wrong, but this team has three easily losable games left on its schedule.

Question about our edge containing technique

Our smash down technique or whatever we call it, is not working and hasn’t worked the last two years. Is it just me or did we finally start playing our end/olb straight up and let him fight to contain the edge rather than coming down so hard and smashing everyone? It seems to me that a pulling guard would wreck this concept and let a guard pick up the would be tackler. I also think it allows the rb to see the entire edge early, make his move and get a head of steam for a cb/lber to have to deal with. I think it’s time to scrap this technique completely.
