"Being a Georgia boy it just felt like home again. Practice was intense and I loved it."

Walton enjoyed this visit. His favorite part about the running backs was how physical they were while simultaneously being smart and avoiding hits.

Walton also met Josh Crawford for the first time.

"I liked him, although he was different from Coach McGee in some ways," Walton said. "Coach McGee is a bit more quiet and calm, while Coach Crawford I saw more flashes of intensity."

"The visit to Georgia was amazing. I got to view the campus and football facilities and it's my favorite out of them all so far. I got to meet up with Coach Smart again and he said he really wanted me and was going to come to my spring practice."

Georgia is still recruiting Cooper as both a running back and a safety. He said he has played running back all his life, but took naturally to safety and probably likes playing there a bit more.

The South Florida connections of Travaris Robinson and James Coley certainly are helping here as well.

UPDATE Tyler Williams is a name to watch in 2025

Tyler Williams, a 3-star wide receiver recruit from Florida, just wrapped up his first visit to UGA. The Dawgs offered him in early January and his recruitment has taken off since. He recently picked up an offer from Alabama. Williams is dropping a top-10 list of schools soon (could be this week) and I expect Georgia to be in it. He said James Coley contacted him the first day he got the job. In my recent conversations with Travis Smith Jr. and CJ Wiley, Coley also contacted them on his first day back in Georgia, which tells me Williams is a priority in this class. I don't know where he stands on the staff's board, but he feels confident he's up there. Williams is a humble kid who doesn't care about stats. He just wants to be developed. He pointed out to me that he only had 25 catches for 525 yards, but 14 of those receptions were for touchdowns. However, higher-rated receivers had 65 catches for 1500-plus yards, but he believes he's just as good as them. On the UGA visit, Williams loved how Kirby Smart pushed his players and liked what he saw. He said he observed how "technical" Smart was with the wide receivers and liked the criticism he gave them. Williams plans to be back in Athens soon. Having Coley around helps with this one.
